Juvenile French Angelfish are black with bright gold vertical bars and bright blue spots on the ventral and anal fins. Adult French Angelfish are black or grey with gold edged scales. French Angelfish are omnivores that require a meaty diet with lots of greenstuff and sponge. Juvenile French Angelfish often act as part-time cleaners that pick off parasites from larger fish. French Angelfish are somewhat aggressive and territorial as adults and will not tolerate other French Angelfish. As juveniles, French Angelfish are okay with invertebrates but they are destructive when they become larger.
